Recap: String Theory vs. Science Leadership Academy at Beeber Rockets
After a string of three wins, String Theory's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 73-72 to Science Leadership Academy at Beeber. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Tuesday (63), String Theory still had to take the loss.
String Theory's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Luca Varallo, who scored 23 points along with three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Varallo has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Jason Pezzetti, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 15 rebounds.
Science Leadership Academy at Beeber got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Sa'd Jamdaddin out in front who scored 28 points. Jahad Marable was another key contributor, scoring 22 points.
String Theory's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-8. As for Science Leadership Academy at Beeber, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season.
