Basketball Recap: Jayen Reeves' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Palisades over Ashbrook

Palisades suffered their biggest defeat since February 27, 2024 on Saturday. They came up short against the Ashbrook Greenwave, falling 68-45.

Palisades' loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jayen Reeves, who went 6 for 13 on his way to 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Joshua Harris, who posted ten points and three steals.

Ashbrook got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jayden Armstrong out in front who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten assists. Issac Byers Jr. was another key player, going 5 of 12 on his way to 15 points.

Palisades has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-6 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.3 points per game. As for Ashbrook, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 9-2.

Palisades wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 62-59 victory against Kings Mountain on the 30th. As for Ashbrook, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 79-70 win against Gaston Day on the 30th.
