Basketball Recap: Hawthorne Math & Science Academy Takes a Loss

Hawthorne Math & Science Academy lost against Rolling Hills Prep back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Hawthorne Math & Science Academy The Aviators were outmatched by the Rolling Hills Prep Huskies and fell 80-39. While losing is never fun, the The Aviators can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1051st, while the Huskies are ranked 68th).

Hawthorne Math & Science Academy's loss dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Rolling Hills Prep, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 19-6.

Hawthorne Math & Science Academy will square off against Vistamar at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Vistamar's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four games. As for Rolling Hills Prep, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Geffen Academy at 4:00 p.m. on February 5th.
