After flying high against Pocahontas last Tuesday, Brookland came back down to earth. The Brookland Bearcats fell 70-58 to the Blytheville Chickasaws on Friday. The Bearcats' loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Brookland's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 8-11. As for Blytheville, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Brookland will head out to take on Westside at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Westside will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Brookland surely won't give up without a fight. As for Blytheville, they are taking a road trip to challenge Highland at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Blytheville knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past five contests -- so hopefully Highland likes a good challenge.
