Football Recap: St. Laurence Comes Up Short + How To Watch

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact St. Laurence can now relate to. They were beaten by the East St. Louis Flyers 50-7 on Saturday. The Vikings were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 37-0.

This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Myson Johnson-Cook and Ahmad Coleman. Johnson-Cook rushed for 168 yards and four scores while picking up 7.3 yards per carry while Coleman rushed for 110 yards and three touchdowns on only 11 carries. Those four rushing touchdowns gave Johnson-Cook a new career-high.

With the defeat, St. Laurence broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 8-5. As for East St. Louis, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 9-3.

St. Laurence does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for East St. Louis, they will face off against Fenwick at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 885 yards in their previous games.
