Volleyball Game Preview: Northgate Broncos vs. Campolindo Cougars

Northgate hasn't had much luck against Campolindo recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Broncos will head out on the road to face off against the Cougars at 6:30 p.m. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

Northgate proved they can win big last Tuesday (they won by three) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Acalanes 3-2. The Broncos haven't had any issues with the Dons recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Northgate wouldn't go down easily and took Acalanes into a fifth set where they got it done with a seven-point win. The final score came out to 25-5, 25-15, 17-25, 16-25, 15-8.

Meanwhile, Campolindo sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over Las Lomas on Tuesday.

Campolindo had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 16-25, 17-25, 25-11, 25-21, 15-13.

Northgate's victory bumped their record up to 17-12. As for Campolindo, their win bumped their record up to 24-6.

Northgate might still be hurting after the 3-0 defeat they got from Campolindo in their previous matchup back in September. Can the Broncos avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
