Soccer Game Preview: Penn Hills vs. Central Catholic

Penn Hills hasn't had much luck against Central Catholic recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Indians will take on the Vikings at 3:00 p.m. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Penn Hills is likely headed into the contest with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Norwin on Tuesday. The Indians came up short against the Knights, falling 4-0. While losing is never fun, Penn Hills can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania soccer rankings (they are ranked 359th, while Norwin are ranked 54th).

Meanwhile, Central Catholic kept a clean sheet against Gateway on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Gators 1-0. Central Catholic haven't had any issues with Gateway recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Penn Hills' loss dropped their record down to 4-12-1. As for Central Catholic, their win bumped their record up to 9-3-2.

Penn Hills couldn't quite get it done against Central Catholic in their previous matchup back in September as they fell 2-0. Can the Indians avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
