Baseball Recap: Glenns Ferry's Winning Streak Snapped at Five Games

Glenns Ferry dropped their record down to 11-12-1 on Friday, which also ended the team's five-game streak of wins. They came up short against the North Star Huskies, falling 9-3. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Huskies this season, with their most recent loss being a 8-5 defeat back in April.

Glenns Ferry saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Junior Sanchez, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

As for North Star, the win was the 16th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 17-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games.

On North Star's side, Cole Young made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 15 over 6.2 innings pitched. Young has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.

In other batting news, Jackson McReynolds was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run. Another player making a difference was Colby Coit, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one run.

Glenns Ferry has already played their next contest, an 11-1 win against Idaho City on the 2nd. North Star does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
