Basketball Recap: Springville Comes Up Short

Springville and Salem Hills squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Springville had to settle for second. They took a 51-42 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Salem Hills Skyhawks. The Red Devils haven't had much luck with the Skyhawks recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Chenielle Nye was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double with 22 points and 12 boards for Salem Hills. Nye is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down 12 or more in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooke Warren, who posted 12 points and six boards.

Springville's loss dropped their record down to 13-12. As for Salem Hills, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-5 record this season.

As of now, neither Springville nor Salem Hills have any future games scheduled.
