Volleyball Recap: Piqua Comes Up Short

Piqua was the 3-1 winner over Xenia when they last played one another back in September of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Indians took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Buccaneers on Tuesday.

While Piqua ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 17 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 27-29, 25-20, 25-17.

Megan Hull paced Piqua's offense, picking up eight kills. Hull got some help from Abigail Kirk and her 22 assists. Megan Gebhart and Riley Baker kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with four aces apiece.

Piqua's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Xenia, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Piqua wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Stebbins on the 21st. As for Xenia, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Sidney on the 21st.
