Softball Recap: Riverton Takes a Loss

Riverton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 11th straight loss. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 11-1 to the Pawnee Indians, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. If the Hawks were looking for revenge after losing 16-1 to the Indians when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Riverton saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lily Lock, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one double. Gabriella Speaks was another, scoring a run and stealing two bases.

Riverton's defeat dropped their record down to 1-11. As for Pawnee, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Riverton will host Athens at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Pawnee, they will welcome Tri-City at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
