Basketball Recap: Jodari Morgan Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Lafayette

On Friday, the Southaven Chargers didn't have too much breathing room in their match against the Lafayette Commodores, but they still walked away with a 50-44 win.

Southaven's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jodari Morgan, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Morgan a new career-high in blocks (two). Another player making a difference was Cameron Hammond, who posted nine points in addition to eight boards and four steals.

Southaven has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-10 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.8 points per game. As for Lafayette, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 11 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-14 record this season.

As of now, neither Southaven nor Lafayette have any future games scheduled.
