Basketball Recap: Centennial Baptist Comes Up Short

Centennial Baptist played a tough match on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through an 85-51 loss at the hands of the Notus Pirates. The defeat continues a trend for the Mustangs in their matchups with the Pirates: they've now lost six in a row.

Notus' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Benny Guevara, who went 8-for-14 en route to 19 points in addition to six rebounds and five steals. Guevara has become a key player for Notus: the team is undefeated when he posts at least five steals, but 7-8 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Derrick Huter, who went 8-for-11 on his way to 20 points.

Centennial Baptist's loss dropped their record down to 6-14. As for Notus, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-8.

Centennial Baptist does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Notus, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Riverstone International at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Notus is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 60 points per game this season.
