Basketball Recap: Natalie Hall's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Earlville over Newark

After flying high against Hiawatha on Thursday, Earlville came back down to earth. The Earlville Red Raiders fell to the Newark Norsemen 53-47. The Red Raiders were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Norsemen earlier this season, when they won 48-36.

Several Red Raiders players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Natalie Hall, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten boards. What's more, Hall also racked up five assists, the most she's had since back in January of 2024. Bailey Miller was another key player, dropping a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds.

Earlville's loss dropped their record down to 8-18. As for Newark, they moved to 1-18 with that victory, which also ended their 18-game losing streak.

Earlville will be playing at home against Alden-Hebron at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Newark, they will head out on the road to challenge Peotone at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
