Baseball Recap: King Takes a Loss

King was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 6-1 to the Calhoun Sandcrabs, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Brahmas of the 3-2 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2016.

Elijah Brinneman spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and four unearned) runs on three hits.

King's defeat dropped their record down to 1-14. As for Calhoun, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-9-1 record this season.

King wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 13-4 loss against Zapata on the 25th. As for Calhoun, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 7-1 win against Santa Gertrudis Academy on the 22nd.
