Basketball Game Preview: Alief Elsik Rams vs. Alief Hastings Bears

The Alief Elsik Rams are taking a road trip to face off against the Alief Hastings Bears at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Alief Hastings took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Alief Elsik, who comes in off a win.

Alief Elsik will bounce into Wednesday's contest after beating Alief Taylor, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. Alief Elsik came out on top against Alief Taylor by a score of 44-37 on Friday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Rams.

Meanwhile, Alief Hastings was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They received a blow as they fell 58-39 to George Ranch. While losing is never fun, the Bears can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1041st, while the Longhorns are ranked 206th).

Alief Elsik's victory bumped their record up to 11-16. As for Alief Hastings, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-15.

Alief Elsik didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Alief Hastings in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, but they still walked away with a 59-53 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Alief Elsik since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
