Baseball Recap: Valley View Comes Up Short

Valley View had lost five straight on the road, but on Monday they dropped down to 5-14 to make it six. They fell 6-2 to the Wallenpaupack Area Buckhorns. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Buckhorns this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 7-5 back in April.

As for Wallenpaupack Area, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.1 runs on average over those games.

For Wallenpaupack Area's part, Ben Anderson was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. That's the most hits Anderson has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of JJ Blaum, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Looking ahead, Valley View will be playing at home against Delaware Valley at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Wallenpaupack Area, they are taking a road trip to square off against Wyoming Area at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Buckhorns 3, the Warriors 3.1) so any runs scored will be well earned.
