Softball Recap: Goshen Central Gladiators vs. Roosevelt Presidents
Goshen Central won the last time they faced Roosevelt and things went their way on Saturday too. The Gladiators were the clear victors by a 14-2 margin over the Presidents. The Gladiators might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three matches by seven runs or more this season.
Addison Freiberger made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits (and only one walk). Freiberger was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. She also put up a double, which was her first of the season.
In other batting news, Mia Antolino and Sophia Springer did most of the damage at the plate: Antolino went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI, while Springer went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. Those RBI marked the first that Antolino has brought in this season. Bailey Gomulka was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
