Preview: Mineral County Serpents vs. Sierra Sage Academy/Right Of Passage Rams

Mineral County is 9-1 against Sierra Sage Academy/Right Of Passage since December of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Mineral County Serpents will head out on the road to take on the Sierra Sage Academy/Right Of Passage Rams at 5:00 p.m. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses for Mineral County and 25 for Sierra Sage Academy/Right Of Passage dating back to last season.

Mineral County struggled with assists on Tuesday (Coleville had 14 more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Mineral County was beaten by Coleville 55-25. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Mineral County in their matchups with Coleville: they've now lost three in a row.

Despite the defeat, Mineral County saw an underclassman step up: Jayona Kimmins scored 13 points along with six rebounds and five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Kimmins has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Taiylor Sanchez, who scored five points along with eight rebounds.

Meanwhile, Sierra Sage Academy/Right Of Passage was the victim of a rough 58-33 loss at the hands of Coleville on Thursday.

Mineral County's defeat was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-16. As for Sierra Sage Academy/Right Of Passage, their loss dropped their record down to 0-14.

Mineral County was able to grind out a solid victory over Sierra Sage Academy/Right Of Passage when the teams last played last Monday, winning 27-20. The rematch might be a little tougher for Mineral County since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
