Softball Recap: Bonduel Comes Up Short

If Bonduel was riding high fresh off their 11-1 takedown of Shiocton on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Bears fell just short of the Weyauwega-Fremont Warhawks by a score of 3-2 on Thursday. The Bears were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Warhawks earlier this season, when they won 11-1.

Bonduel got a good showing from Kallie Wilcox, who struck out six batters over four innings while giving up three earned runs off six hits (and only one walk). Wilcox has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Jayla Reinke was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one double.

Bonduel's record now sits at 10-6. As for Weyauwega-Fremont, their victory ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-9.

Bonduel didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 2-1 win against Marshall on the 10th. As for Weyauwega-Fremont, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 12-0 victory against Berlin on the 9th.
