Basketball Game Preview: Watonga Eagles vs. Hobart Bearcats

The Watonga Eagles will venture away from home to square off against the Hobart Bearcats at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Watonga lost 55-32 to Mooreland on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 229th, while the Bearcats are ranked 86th).

Meanwhile, Hobart got the win against Hinton on Saturday by a conclusive 57-31. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bearcats.

Hobart has also been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-8 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.0 points per game. As for Watonga, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-13.

Watonga came up short against Hobart in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, falling 52-41. Can Watonga avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
