Softball Game Preview: Butler Bears vs. Osceola Indians

The Butler Bears will square off against the Osceola Indians at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in Butler's favor as the squad sits on five straight wins at home while Osceola has been banged up by 11 consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season.

On Thursday, Butler earned a 5-1 victory over Hume. The Bears haven't had any issues with the Hornets recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Avery Eldred spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on two hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Kadyn Cook was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. What's more, she posted two RBI, the most she's had over her last seven matchups. The team also got some help courtesy of Sydney Davis, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run.

Meanwhile, Osceola came up short against Midway on Monday and fell 11-6.

Butler's victory bumped their record up to 13-9. As for Osceola, their loss dropped their record down to 0-14.

Butler took their win against Osceola in their previous meeting back in April of 2018 by a conclusive 20-2 score. Do the Bears have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Indians turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
