Football Recap: Lindale Beats Gilmer for Their Fourth Straight Win

Lindale hadn't done well against Gilmer recently (they were 0-5 in their previous five matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Eagles came out on top against the Buckeyes by a score of 35-23. The victory was just business as usual for the Eagles, who after four games remain undefeated this season.

Several Buckeyes players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Zade Taylor, who threw for 309 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 12.9 yards per attempt, and also rushed for 57 yards. Trace Haynes was in the mix as well, providing Gilmer with two TDs.

Lindale's win bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Gilmer, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lindale will host Chapel Hill at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles will need to watch out since the Bulldogs have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season. As for Gilmer, they will take on Brenham at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Cubs' defense has only allowed 14 points per game this season, so the Buckeyes' offense will have their work cut out for them.
