Softball Recap: Mesquite Wildcats vs. Saguaro Sabercats
Mesquite was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against the Saguaro Sabercats, falling 13-5. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Sabercats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 12-0 last Tuesday.
Layla Ontiveros made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That RBI marked the first that she brought in this season. Another player making a difference was Jasmine Jaramillo, who went 1-for-4 with one triple and one RBI.
Mesquite's loss dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Saguaro, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-7 record this season.
