Platteview won the last time they faced Seward and things went their way on Thursday too. The Trojans narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Bluejays 4-3. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since March 29, 2018, but that streak is no more.
Platteview's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Tucker Riha, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases. That's the most stolen bases Riha has posted since back in April of 2024. Logan Grosdidier also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
Platteview's win bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Seward, they now have a losing record of 3-4.
We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Platteview will square off against rival Hastings on Monday. Meanwhile, Seward is set to take on their familiar foe Skutt Catholic at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
