Basketball Recap: McKinney Christian Academy Mustangs vs. Covenant Knights
The McKinney Christian Academy Mustangs came into Tuesday's contest having lost six straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They took down Covenant 42-24 on Tuesday. The victory was just what McKinney Christian Academy needed coming off of a 61-20 defeat in their prior match.
McKinney Christian Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Hannah Massingale, who almost dropped a double-double on 17 points and nine rebounds. It was the first time this season that Massingale scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Sadie Zbranek, who scored 11 points along with six steals.
McKinney Christian Academy's win ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-16. As for Covenant, their defeat was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-13.
McKinney Christian Academy will be playing at home against the Chargers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Shelton has now lost eight straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 21. Covenant is on the road again on Thursday and plays the Chargers at 6:00 p.m. on February 1st. Dallas Christian is coming into the game hot, having won their last nine games.
