If St. Petersburg was feeling good fresh off their 68-29 takedown of Dunedin last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The St. Petersburg Green Devils took a 60-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Palm Harbor University Hurricanes on Wednesday. The Green Devils' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Despite the loss, St. Petersburg still got an impressive performance from Shaw Summer, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 15 rebounds. That was a full 44.9% of St. Petersburg's points, marking the third time in a row she's posted more than a third of the team's points.

Palm Harbor University's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Leah Barker led the charge by dropping a double-double on 15 points and 18 boards. Barker has been hot for a while, having posted eight or more rebounds the last 13 times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Devyn Lavelle, who went 5 for 9 on her way to 12 points in addition to five boards and five steals.

St. Petersburg's loss dropped their record down to 17-7. As for Palm Harbor University, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-6.

St. Petersburg didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 56-43 defeat against Countryside on the 30th. Palm Harbor University has also already played their next match, a 59-50 win against Berkeley Prep on the 30th.
