Baseball Recap: Nordhoff Comes Up Short

Nordhoff was the 4-3 winner over Fillmore when they last played one another back in March of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Rangers fell 7-4 to the Flashes on Wednesday. The Rangers' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

Nordhoff saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Luis Suarez, who went 1-for-4 with three stolen bases and one RBI. Suarez has become a key player for the Rangers: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 5-7 otherwise. Johnny Perez was another, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

Nordhoff now has a losing record of 7-8. As for Fillmore, they moved to 6-9 with that win, which also ended their five-game losing streak.

While Nordhoff had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
