Basketball Recap: Muenster Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Muenster and Cooper squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Muenster had to settle for second. They lost to the Cooper Bulldogs on the road by a 49-30 margin. The contest marked the Hornets' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Despite the loss, Muenster still got an impressive performance from Casen Carney, who posted 13 points in addition to six rebounds and four steals. Those six boards gave Carney a new career-high.

Cooper got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jequan Brown out in front who shot 67% from the field en route to 16 points and three steals. The match was Brown's fourth in a row with at least 16 points. Another player making a difference was Adryean Mapps, who earned 14 points and five rebounds.

Muenster's defeat dropped their record down to 13-7. As for Cooper, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-7 record this season.

Muenster does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Cooper, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 58-46 loss against Seymour on the 25th.
