Castle View is preparing for their first league matchup of the season on Monday. They will head out to face off against the ThunderRidge Grizzlies at 4:15 p.m. Castle View is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.6 runs per game this season.

Castle View blew Legend out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Friday Legend got their revenge. The Sabercats fell just short of the Titans by a score of 8-6. The Sabercats' loss signaled the end of their nine-game winning streak.

Samuel Harry made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Zachary Bitton, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but ThunderRidge ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They skirted past Valor Christian 7-6.

Cameron Carpinello looked comfortable as he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits over four innings pitched. He has become a key player for ThunderRidge: the team is 2-1 when he allows at most three earned runs, but 3-4 otherwise.

At the plate, Shane Christy was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. Cade Rath also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

The win got ThunderRidge back to even at 5-5. As for Castle View, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-2.

ThunderRidge's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Castle View has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.6 hits per game. It's a different story for ThunderRidge, though, as they've been averaging 9.8 hits. Given Castle View's sizable advantage in that area, the Grizzlies will need to find a way to close that gap.

Castle View beat ThunderRidge 10-5 when the teams last played back in May of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Sabercats since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
