Softball Recap: Silver Makes It 13 in a Row on the Road

Silver put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They were the clear victor by a 20-1 margin over the Kirtland Central Broncos. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Fighting Colts also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2020.

Ariel Alvarado made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Alvarado was also stellar in the batter's box, going 4-for-5 with three RBI and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Maria Ruelaz was incredible, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with six RBI, three runs, and one triple. What's more, she posted three hits, the most she's had since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Brailyn Lopez, who went 2-for-5 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple.

Silver always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .622. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Kirtland Central only posted an OBP of .450.

Silver pushed their record up to 3-0 with the win, which was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 11.6 runs. As for Kirtland Central, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.

Silver has already played their next match, a 12-2 victory against Farmington on the 8th. As for Kirtland Central, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 17-13 win against Santa Fe on the 8th.
