Basketball Game Preview: Marmion Cadets vs. St. Rita Mustangs

The Marmion Cadets are taking a road trip to challenge the St. Rita Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

On Saturday, Marmion had to suffer through a 65-33 loss at the hands of Pecatonica. While losing is never fun, the Cadets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 215th, while the Indians are ranked 16th).

Meanwhile, St. Rita was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were dealt a 65-25 defeat at the hands of Saint Ignatius College Prep.

St. Rita's loss dropped their record down to 4-17. As for Marmion, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-10.

Everything came up roses for Marmion against St. Rita in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, as the squad secured a 61-34 victory. In that matchup, Marmion amassed a halftime lead of 35-12, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Tuesday.
