Baseball Game Preview: Willow Spring Storm vs. Green Level Gators

The Willow Spring Storm will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Green Level Gators at 4:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Willow Spring is headed into their home opener looking to turn things around after starting their season on the road. They fell just short of Green Hope by a score of 6-5 on Monday.

Willow Spring got a good showing from Luke Doreauk, who struck out nine batters over 3.2 innings while giving up three earned runs off only one hit. The dominant performance gave Doreauk a new career-low in hits.

At the plate, Willow Spring saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jace Cargile, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2. The dominant performance gave Cargile a new career-high in runs.

Meanwhile, Green Level unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They lost 13-4 to Broughton on Wednesday. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it 13 in a row.

Willow Spring skirted past Green Level 6-4 in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. Does Willow Spring have another victory up their sleeve, or will Green Level turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
