Basketball Game Preview: Tri-Cities Bulldogs vs. Sprayberry Yellow Jackets

The Tri-Cities Bulldogs will take on the Sprayberry Yellow Jackets at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Tri-Cities knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 18 matches -- so hopefully Sprayberry likes a good challenge.

Tri-Cities is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They took down Morrow 103-89. The Bulldogs' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Tri-Cities' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jalan Wingfield, who dropped a double-double with 29 points and 15 boards. The dominant performance gave Wingfield a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Tre Keith, who dropped a double-double with 26 points and ten assists.

Tri-Cities smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in eight consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Sprayberry made easy work of Gainesville on Wednesday and carried off a 70-49 win. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Yellow Jackets' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 86th, while the Red Elephants are ranked 21st).

Sprayberry is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-11 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.0 points over those games. Tri-Cities pushed their record up to 22-6 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home.
