It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Island Coast had no problem doing just that on Monday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Osceola Warriors a 1-0 shutout. The win was nothing new for the Gators as they're now sitting on seven straight.

The result came thanks to Grady Schwiezer's shutout, as he gave up just five hits and racked up eight Ks. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Island Coast's victory was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Austin Schoolcraft, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

Island Coast pushed their record up to 22-6 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Osceola, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 15-12.

Island Coast will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Warriors: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
