Basketball Recap: Kirtland Central Comes Up Short

Kirtland Central lost against Espanola Valley back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Kirtland Central Broncos fell 68-56 to the Espanola Valley Sundevils. While losing is never fun, the Broncos can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Mexico basketball rankings (they are ranked 95th, while the Sundevils are ranked 16th).

This is the second loss in a row for Kirtland Central and nudges their season record down to 5-9. As for Espanola Valley, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-3.

Kirtland Central will face off against Page at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Page will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something Kirtland Central surely won't give up without a fight. As for Espanola Valley, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 76-43 victory against Aztec on the 11th.
