Football Recap: Clark Triumphs

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Bishop Gorman, Clark was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 18-16 win over the Pinecrest Academy Sloan Canyon Pirate. The Chargers' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Ava Reed was nothing short of spectacular: she rushed for 131 yards and one touchdown on only 15 carries, and also caught one touchdown. Those 131 rushing yards gave her a new career-high.

Clark didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Gulisa Nunez, Madison Mulhall, and Ayari Phillips picked up one apiece.

Clark's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Pinecrest Academy Sloan Canyon, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-3.

Clark didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 13-2 defeat against Southeast Career Tech on the 7th. Pinecrest Academy Sloan Canyon has also already played their next match, a 28-25 win against Centennial on the 7th.
