Basketball Recap: Sidney Takes a Loss

If Sidney was riding high fresh off their 50-28 takedown of Red Oak last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Sidney Cowboys were outmatched by the Stanton Vikings and fell 64-35. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cowboys this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 56-29 back in December of 2024.

Sidney has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-8 record this season. As for Stanton, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 13-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sidney will venture away from home to take on Fremont-Mills at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Stanton, they will square off against CAM at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The timing isn't great for CAM: they have been struggling with three straight losses at home, while Stanton has snatched up four consecutive wins on the road.
