The Horizon Hawks will square off against the Foundation Academy Lions at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Horizon's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They blew past Davenport 15-0. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Hawks.

Addison Lamb made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only a hit while striking out ten over four innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April of 2024. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 2-for-2.
In other batting news, Lila Hernandez was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. That's the most runs she has posted since back in February of 2024. Maryn Nealy was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.
Horizon hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most four strikeouts in eight consecutive contests dating back to last season.
Meanwhile, Foundation Academy took care of business in their home opener on Thursday. They came out on top against The First Academy by a score of 4-0.
The result came thanks to Reagan Schirmer's shutout, as she gave up just five hits. What's more, she gave up only zero earned runs, the fewest she's had since back in April of 2024.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Kena Terry, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Elizabeth Ozim, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
Horizon was able to grind out a solid victory over Foundation Academy when the teams last played back in April of 2024, winning 3-0. Will Horizon repeat their success, or does Foundation Academy have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
