Baseball Recap: Mendez Takes a Loss

Mendez was the 12-0 winner over Contreras when they last played one another back in March, but their luck changed this time around. The Jaguars took a 9-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cobras on Wednesday.

Fernando Torres made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 2-for-4. Lennox Macias was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Mendez has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season. As for Contreras, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-6.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Mendez beat the Cobras by a score of 10-5 on Friday.
