Basketball Recap: Oakwood Comes Up Short

Oakwood was the 75-39 winner over Schlarman when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Oakwood Comets fell 70-58 to the Schlarman Hilltoppers on Friday.

Schlarman found their leader in sophomore Noah Fowler, who en route to 25 points and four steals. Schlarman is undefeated when Fowler posts 25 or more points, but 8-11 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Peyton Kuemmerle, who to rack up 20 points and five rebounds.

Oakwood's defeat dropped their record down to 17-12. As for Schlarman, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-11 record this season.

Oakwood has already played their next game, a 60-45 loss against Tolono Unity on the 21st. As for Schlarman, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 48-40 win against Watseka on the 15th.
