Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Noah Xiong and Ian Van Hammond Lead Kimberly to Victory

While Kimberly's win against Fond du Lac wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Papermakers skirted past the Cardinals 3-2. The Papermakers haven't had any issues with the Cardinals recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Kimberly had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 22-25, 21-25, 25-17, 25-17, 15-12.

Kimberly was led to victory by Ian Van Hammond and Noah Xiong. Van Hammond had 15 digs and two aces, while Xiong had seven digs and two assists. That's the most aces Van Hammond has posted since back in September.

Kimberly's win bumped their record up to 19-8. As for Fond du Lac, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-9.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matches. After both having extra time off, Kimberly and Kaukauna will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Fond du Lac, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Cedarburg at 7:00 p.m. on the 24th.
