It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Homestead had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Columbia City Eagles and snuck past 5-4. Winning may never get old, but Homestead sure is getting used to it with their third in a row.
Alex Graber spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and three unearned) runs on four hits and racked up ten Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in ten consecutive pitching appearances.
At the plate, Homestead's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Brady Minnick, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI.
