Basketball Recap: Kerens Starts Season with Win on the Road

Kerens had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They claimed a resounding 84-50 victory over the Blooming Grove Lions. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Bobcats as it put an end to their five-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Despite the loss, Blooming Grove still got an impressive performance from Kegan Hurford, who posted 18 points, to go along with six rebounds and five assists. Another player making a difference was Braydon Reed, who put up eight points and six rebounds.

Blooming Grove's loss dropped their record down to 4-4.

Kerens will take on Cross Roads at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Blooming Grove, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 0-0 victory against Rice on the 6th.
