Baseball Recap: St. Clair Takes a Loss

St. Clair had lost six straight at home, but on Thursday they dropped their record down to 7-13 to make it seven. They fell just short of the Anchor Bay Tars by a score of 4-3. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Tars this season, with their most recent loss being a 15-4 defeat on Wednesday.

As for Anchor Bay, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-9 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.9 runs on average over those games.

For Anchor Bay's part, Zach Clemons looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Clemons has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than one walk any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Isaiah Domey, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. Clair will face off against Utica Ford at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Anchor Bay, they will square off against Fraser at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Ramblers will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something the Tars surely won't give up without a fight.
