Basketball Recap: Lake Placid Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Lake Placid can bid farewell to their 11-game losing streak thanks to their game on Thursday. They strolled past the Oasis Christian Lions with points to spare, taking the game 57-42. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 69-29 back in December of 2024.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lake Placid to victory, but perhaps none more so than Mosley Mccray, who posted 11 points and eight boards. What's more, Mccray also racked up two steals, the most he's had since back in January of 2024. Another player making a difference was Brasen Bevis, who earned 14 points.

Lake Placid smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds in three consecutive matches.

Oasis Christian lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Justin Linares, who had 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Christian Branning, who scored 11 points.

Lake Placid's victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-13. As for Oasis Christian, their loss was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 4-11.

Lake Placid has already played their next game, a 46-43 defeat against Frostproof on the 24th. As for Oasis Christian, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 48-45 loss against Lakeside Christian on the 24th.
