Basketball Game Preview: Long Reach Lightning vs. Broadneck Bruins

The Long Reach Lightning will square off against the Broadneck Bruins at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Long Reach knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matches -- so hopefully Broadneck likes a good challenge.

Long Reach fought the good fight in their overtime contest against River Hill on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 75-64 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hawks. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Friday (63), the Lightning still had to take the loss.

Meanwhile, Broadneck was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 57-54 heartbreaker at the hands of North County.

Long Reach has traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight games, which has put a noticeable dent in their 4-13 record this season. As for Broadneck, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-7.

Long Reach skirted past Broadneck 54-52 when the teams last played back in December of 2023. Will Long Reach repeat their success, or does Broadneck have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
