It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact O'Connor can now relate to. They fell just short of the Dripping Springs Tigers by a score of 3-2 on Thursday. The Panthers' defeat signaled the end of their 14-game winning streak.

Faith Mayfield spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on three hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Isabella Sierra was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Meiko Dominguez, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one run.

The loss was their first at home , dropping their record down to 21-3. As for Dripping Springs, they have been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 13 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 26-8-1 record this season.

While O'Connor had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 12:00 p.m. on Friday.
