Beatty was forced to take a big defeat against Indian Springs on Thursday, they got the better of them on Thursday. The Hornets skirted past the Thunderbirds 7-5. This was a revenge game for the Hornets: when they faced off against the Thunderbirds on Thursday, they had to take a 14-2 loss.

Anthony Femat made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 12 batters over 6.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off five hits (and only one walk). He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Christian Molina was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Martin Dimas also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Beatty always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .516. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .516 or higher in three consecutive games.

Beatty is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.8 runs over those games. As for Indian Springs, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-7.

Beatty and Indian Springs will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next contests. The next time the Hornets see the field they'll take on Spring Mountain at 12:00 p.m. on the 14th. As for Indian Springs, their break will end when they face Laughlin at 1:00 p.m. on the 14th.
