Football Game Preview: West Point Pointers vs. Nandua Warriors

The West Point Pointers will challenge the Nandua Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Things were looking good for West Point after they put the first points on the board on Friday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They took a 24-18 hit to the loss column at the hands of Middlesex. The Pointers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

The losing side was boosted by Jaydien Taylor, who rushed for 61 yards and one TD.all of that, rushing production came thanks to one massive run

West Point didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Keleal Carter and Chris Delaney.

Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Nandua beat Arcadia 26-20 on Friday. The win continues a trend for the Warriors in their matchups with the Firebirds: they've now won nine in a row.

Nandua's win came from a few key players West Point will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Juelz Snead, who rushed for 150 yards and one score on only ten carries. Those 150 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Another rusher making a difference was Elijah Parker, who rushed for 76 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only nine carries.

Nandua's run defense was locked in: Arcadia could only muster 3.2 yards per carry. The Warriors didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged nine.

West Point's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Nandua, their victory bumped their record up to an identical 3-5.

West Point strolled past Nandua in their previous matchup back in November of 2022 by a score of 14-0. Will the Pointers repeat their success, or do the Warriors have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
